14. Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace - Izunokuni

The 'Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace' was registered as a part of the World Heritage 'Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution' in 2015. A reverberatory furnace is a type of furnace used for melting metals to create cannons. It was constructed to protect Japan from foreign threats. The construction of the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace began in 1854 and was completed in 1857. Out of the 11 reverberatory furnaces built in Japan, only 3 still exist today, and Nirayama is the only one that was actually operational. Be sure to visit this valuable historical site.

17. Miho Matsubara - Shizuoka City

26. Shuzenji Temple - Izu City

Shuzenji Temple is the temple that gave its name to Shuzenji, and it is located at the center of Shuzenji Onsen. Its formal name is 'Fukuchiyama Shuzen-man-anzenshi', and it is said to have been established by Kobo Daishi (Kukai) in the early Heian period in the year 807. The 'Tokko-no-yu', which is said to have been brought forth by Kukai, is a symbolic presence of Shuzenji Onsen. 29. Ryugu Cave - Shimoda City
